“This program changed my life in a way I never expected. I never thought sitting in a classroom at the YOC every Thursday would make such a big difference in my life. While attending this class, I became so well-connected because of the people surrounding me and the support they gave to me. I was only 15 when I was introduced to Ms. Jones and Mr. G. They had no idea what they were getting into with me. I was 15, trying to become emancipated because I was getting kicked out. I definitely didn’t have an easy life, but to be here today, over ten years later, I have been in the same relationship for over a decade with three beautiful children and a first-generation college graduate. I wouldn’t change a thing now. As part of the staff, I get to do for others what someone was for me. Be a helping hand to the next generation.”
